A Rholin Installation

Here at Rholin we endeavour to provide the customer with a 1st class service from start to finish. A key factor in providing a 1st class service is the actual installation itself. Currently we employ 6 fitting teams, many of whom have been with the company for many years. Each team has 2/3 members in it and has at least 1 qualified joiner amongst them.

In addition to complying with Swish guidelines, we also employ a technical surveyor who checks each completed job, to ensure the installation meets our own high standards.

The Consumer Protection association have also sent out feedback forms to our customers in order to obtain feedback.

The customer feedback form also contains an additional comments/feedback section, which is returned to Rholin. We then use these comments to further improve our existing service.

Scaffolding

Abiding by Health and safety guidelines are paramount within our industry, not only to ensure the safety of our roofline installers but also for your safety as our valued customer. Due to most of the work we carry out being several meters from the ground, merely working from ladders is a no-go area in terms of health and safety regulations. The H.S.E. state ‘Ladders are best used for getting up or down, rather than as a place of work’.

A decision on which we use is made by our roofline surveyor and is determined by such factors as ease of access and type of house (e.g. 3 storey, bungalow etc).  All 3 scaffold systems used conform fully with health and safety regulations.

Asbestos Policy

Asbestos and the handling of it is a very serious issue.  In particular within any area of work that includes maintenance to older buildings, such as the roofline industry.  Therefore if you are already aware you have fascias or soffits containing asbestos or even if you aren’t it’s vital to make the right choice when it comes to choosing a company who are fully trained to deal with such an eventuality, like ourselves.

What Rholin do?

When the property is being surveyed our fully trained and certified staff carry out the necessary initial checks to see if there is any asbestos in the roofline.

If asbestos is detected a small sample will be removed from the site where further tests can be carried out to check the type of asbestos.  Our findings will then dictate the next course of action.

If it is found to be safe to remove from site, our teams will remove the asbestos using protective equipment provided including a respirator.

The asbestos will then be double bagged immediately in heavy duty polythene bags and removed from the site, to avoid asbestos dust being released.

Why we do it?

Simply because asbestos dust can kill.  At least 3500 people in Great Britain die each year from asbestos related lung cancer as a result of past exposure to asbestos.  Companies not abiding by health and safety procedure in this particular area are placing people, including themselves, at serious risk, and in doing so are breaking the law.
